YOUTH ENGAGEMENT
We see it time and time again: When youth and adults work together to create change, people stand up and take notice! Some adults assume youth don’t have the time or passion to be engaged in preventing underage alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use. That couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, young people are not only passionate about these issues, they are an essential part to making prevention happen. They understand better than adults think because they know first hand about the issues youth face. They just need training and adult support to help bring about community change. Our Guide to Effective Engagement is a tool for adults and youth to use to work together.

The Zero Alcohol for Youth Academy
Do you want to engage youth in preventing underage alcohol use? Texans for Safe and Drug-Free offers several programs just for that purpose. The Zero Alcohol for Youth Academy is for youth and adults to collaborate to tackle underage drinking and impaired driving.

Youth Leadership Council
Texans for Safe and Drug-Free Youth's Leadership Council is a team of youth from all over the state that serve as youth leaders in the Texans for Safe and Drug-Free organization. It’s a year-long commitment to serve and youth can participate multiple years if they are age 16-20. To learn more about the YLC, click here.
